The speaker, Erin Sterling, talked about having the "Fear of Blank Slate" when you are working in a design project. Her company is located in Raleigh, NC and called In Situ Studio, meaning a natural, original, or literally "in position." At the end of the of the presentation, Sterling said something that was really funny yet interestingly true, that "it never gets easier, but more comfortable." I think that her presentation was helpful in that it was reassuring that a professional had "fear" of having a blank slate. With this presentation, I have realized that the "fear" is not necessarily a bad thing when you start a new design project. It lets you explore many possibilities, and it makes you think and analyze what really belongs your design.
